Performance Under Pressure

Competition has been the greatest way that I have seen to propelling performance. Whether in handguns, rifles or martial arts like boxing or BJJ. And not just skillset but in mindset. Most of us are training for self-defense which will probably be a high stress situation. We should have the motivation and training to preform these skills under adversity.

Karate is one of those martials arts that people don't typically compete or spar with each other. How do you know you learned a good skill if you're not sparring?
